YOUR SUPPORT:

Your support is vitally important to the choral programs at the University of New Mexico and help with vital expenses such as:

·Renting of concert halls

·Cost of sheet music

·Travel expenses for choral tours and performances

·Photography and recording of performances

Support, in any dollar amount, helps to further the mission of choral activities: to assure the viability and continuity of choral music throughout New Mexico and to increase the understanding and enjoyment of choral music to citizens of all ages.

SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM:

Scholarships are essential to attracting and retaining the best choral students to UNM.  As such, we have embarked on an ambitious fundraising campaign to create 16 scholarship endowments to benefit choral students; 8 such scholarships have already been created or are currently in process.

Visit our Scholarships Page for more information.

Please visit the UNM Foundation for other giving opportunities at the university.

WE GRATEFULLY THANK OUR GENEROUS SPONSORS!

A wonderful example of how students are growing

through the Choral Program Scholarships:

ANDREW D ALEGRIA

Andrew, a student in the masters program in the College of Fine Arts at UNM, was awarded a choral conducting assistantship. Andrew graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Music in Church Music, then went onto perform with the Houston Grand Opera Chorus and the Houston Symphony Chorus. During his time in Houston he became the director of the music ministry at Westminster United Methodist Church. Andrew continued his pursuits in Greenville, SC as the chorus master for the Greenville Opera at the 2010 summer opera of Mozart’s Die Zuaberflote. He decided to further his expertise and return to college to earn his Master’s of Music at UNM. His conducting repertoire includes Handel’s Messiah, Stainer’s The Crucifixion, Dubois’ Seven Last Words of Christ.
