Director: Bradley Ellingboe Professor of Music Director of Choral Activities This is a non-auditioned oratorio society of 140 singers. Its membership is a remarkable mix of students, faculty, staff and community members, ranging from high school graduates to physicians, scientists, business leaders and senior citizens. This diversity is united through a deep love of choral singing. It is one of the largest choral groups in New Mexico and enjoys a well-deserved reputation for fine performances.
The University Chorus presents two or three concerts each academic year at Popejoy Hall on the UNM campus.
In 2011 chorus members traveled to Central Europe to perform the European premiere of Ellingboe's Requiem, as well as Haydn's Lord Nelson Mass, in Budapest, Hungary; Prague, Czech Republic and Bratislava, Slovakia.
As part of the Centennial Celebration of Choral Music at UNM, University Chorus performed Carnegie Hall in June of 2010.
During the summer of 2009, members of the Chorus presented concerts in the Abruzzo region of Italy.
In December of 2007 the Chorus released its second compact disc, a live performance of Verdi's Requiem performed in conjunction with the UNM Symphony Orchestra and Concert Choir.

In 2002 University Chorus gave the world premiere of the Ellingboe Requiem in Popejoy Hall, UNM Campus.
Clausen RequiemRené Clausen leads the dress rehearsal for the world premiere of his Requiem. The piece was commissioned as part of the Choral Centennial Celebration - 100 Years of Singing at UNM!
University Chorus and Concert Choir premiered the Clausen Requiem in Popejoy Hall in April 2011.
